We are excited to welcome Lauren Blackwell, CPC, CPMA, CUC as our new Audit & Education Manager at Gill Compliance Solutions!
Lauren brings extensive experience in healthcare coding, auditing, provider education, and revenue cycle optimization to the GCS team. Her background includes working directly with physicians, coders, auditors, and operational leaders to improve coding accuracy, strengthen documentation, and support regulatory compliance.
Most recently, she served as a Senior Coding Educator with one of the largest revenue cycle companies on the East Coast, where she led large-scale coding education initiatives and developed training programs for physicians, coders, auditors, and revenue cycle teams. A key focus of her work has been translating audit findings and coding trends into meaningful, practical education that improves both documentation and coding performance.
Her experience also includes multispecialty coding and auditing, provider onboarding and education, development of standardized operating procedures, denial and revenue leakage analysis, workflow improvement, and performance monitoring through KPIs and benchmarking.
Lauren’s commitment to leadership extends beyond her professional work. She volunteered as treasurer of her local AAPC chapter from 2022–2023 and continues to volunteer with and co-run a nonprofit organization supporting youth sports in Tennessee.
In her new role with GCS, Lauren will oversee and support our audit and education initiatives, working closely with our clients and internal audit team to ensure that audit findings lead to actionable education and measurable improvement. Her combination of auditing expertise, education experience, and understanding of the revenue cycle is an excellent fit for GCS and the work we do with healthcare organizations across the country.
